Books I'm reading
I want to keep track of the books I've been reading and like! I never remember them later. So....

My Sister's Keeper - finished the book in tears & told Mike, "this is the worst book I've ever read." Of course, it wasn't; it was just sad. I got so involved with the characters. The girl with leukemia made me think so much of Grace--I am more than thankful that diabetes is manageable--can't imagine how a family lives like this book--what a concept! Linda recommended it for over a year when I finally requested it from the library. I can't wait to read more by Jodi Piccoult.
The Memory of Running - oh my goodness! This has got to be one of the strangest books I've read in a long time. I almost had to return it after the first 50 pages--couldn't get into it. Now, I'm not so sure of my thoughts. A fat man has both parents die and realizes his sister is also dead, so he rides across the country while communicating with his handicapped childhood friend. Hmmm...a lot going on, but not much action. I imagine from a literary standpoint, there is much to discover in the book, but I don't have the time for it. :)

I didn't keep track of any, but I remember one b/c it's still on my bedroom floor...
The Last Places - fictional account about the conflict between Palestine and Israel. Very interesting and exciting.

A Mother and Two Daughters - another Godwin book. I enjoy the strong female characters--grew very attached to them & "felt" when things happened in their lives. The father dies early in the book & then the story is about the mother finding her new life and interacting with her two adult daughters--separately their lives and changes as well. Some interesting side characters--Uncle Osgood missing his nose....
Evensong - Gail Godwin - two married Episcopal ministers living in a small town, man's estranged father and a troubled youth enter picture, march for Jesus, Advent season....
Clearing Your Clutter With Feng Shui - reinforcing flylady--get rid of stuff! loads us down!....
The Five People You Meet in Heaven - great, little book--interesting perspective on after-death experience and why some of life happens, how our lives affect others.
